About two weeks ago Gerad, Rian and I were enjoying a beautiful, sunny, summer day. We haven’t had many of those this year, so that in itself made it memorable! We didn't want to waste that sunshine, so we headed off towards Kincade Park and started down the heavily traveled ‘Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.’ We had walked a little ways when a biker said… ‘There is a moose down around that corner’. We slowed down, but figured it would be gone by the time we got there. Much to our surprise… it wasn’t… so, this was our first REAL moose encounter… We were about as close to this one as the last one, but there was nothing but us, a couple bikers and this huge bull moose … no car doors to shut and no gas to ‘step on’ …. just us...
Although he was obviously used to people and not interested in us at all, we took ‘cover’ behind a tree (your only defense against an angry moose) and took our pictures. He crossed to our side of the path (…yikes….) but just kept munching away at the grass … I’m sure we could have walked on up the trail, but we decided we weren’t going to walk towards him, even if he didn’t seem to care if we were there. We headed back up the hill and around this beautiful garden of wild flowers before heading home. . . Only In

GOOD TIMES!!
It was better that you just decided not to keep going on the path! I mean animals are unpredictable. Pretty garden though!
WOW! He's huge! You should have thrown a rock so he'd have looked your way! Then you really would have gotten a great picture!
I'm kidding! You stay safely behind big trees!
I love the wild flowers! How pretty!
Sharon -- first the bear picture ordeal and now you want me to throw rocks at a moose... you really are trying to kill me aren't you....
