Part 2 -
Okay, so after arriving in Cook Inlet (which is huge and actually extends miles and miles and miles further than what the last video clip showed) they swim up this tiny, little creek. It's at the mouth of this creek (the yukky, muddy spot) where Rian caught most of these wonderful little creatures...
The 3rd stop is Upper Six Mile Lake where they are 'home free' as fishing (at least by humans) isn't allowed after they pass the inlet area.
The last stop is Lower Six Mile Lake. This is a beautiful spot...
not only for the scenery and fish watching, but we have found it to be an excellent spot to encounter the 'Alaksa State Bird' - the 'Moosequito' - in huge quantities!!!! This picture was taken in July when my nephew, Chris, was visiting. (He's the handsome guy with the camera around his neck) This picture shows it all - Kurt & Keith looking for fish and Rick looks like he's doing some 'bird' watching....

Okay... so that, I do believe, is the end of the Salmon for this year.... I know how much you're going to miss the "fish stories" but you'll just have to deal with it... at least until the lakes freeze over and the ice fishing begins.... Don't you wish you could see me roll my eyeballs... needless to say there won't be many pictures of that ... you know how Rick is with the camera and I'll be sitting right here enjoying a cup of tea during those excursions!
By the way.... just to keep the record straight... The summer ended with Rian leading the pack with 17 'keepers' Gerad will go down as having caught the biggest fish (on the Halibut trip) and one Salmon... Rick... well, he gave up pretty early in the season... you know, he had surgery on his hand, and the crowds, and work, ... whatever.... his score stands at 0, zip, nada... maybe he'll have better luck next year. . .
